I have not yet been able to test for function but the built quality seems quite good. It is a aluminium retention ring with 4 magnetic stainless steel spring actioned pins keeping the steel LED housing in place. This makes it so that the LED housing can be easily removed and sturdily replaced back into its retention ring. The aluminium mud flanges are welded onto the retention ring and are approximately 1 - 1.5mm thick. My only gripe thus far are the 4 countersunk holes at the ends of both mud flanges with a diameter of 2.5mm. These countersunk edges have a very shallow angle and this coupled with the small diameter of the holes means that any screw used for affixing the flange remains proud over the flange surface. It can easily be fixed by countersinking using a 6.4mm diameter 45 degree bit. See photos attached. I will report back as soon as I have been able to test the lights themself.
